Terms of Service

Effective date: 1 January 2026. Last reviewed: 1 January 2026.

These Terms of Service set out the agreement between you and BADDERTHANBADDIES LLC when you use this website, book a chair, or receive a service at the braid studio and styling suite in Layton. By making an appointment or using the site, you accept these terms. If you do not accept them, please do not book and please leave the site.

We have written these terms in everyday English so that a client can understand the rules without a legal dictionary. Each section covers one topic, and the headings are here to help you find the part you need. Where a term has a specific meaning in this document, it is explained the first time it appears.

2. Acceptance of These Terms

These terms form a binding agreement once you book a service or use the website in a way that indicates acceptance. You can accept by sending a booking enquiry, by paying a deposit, by confirming an appointment in a reply, or by continuing to use the site after the effective date shown above.

If you book on behalf of another person, including a child, you confirm that you have authority to do so and that you accept these terms for that person. If you do not have authority, please ask the person or their guardian to make the booking directly.

If any part of these terms is found to be unenforceable, the rest remains in force. A failure by us to enforce a term on one occasion is not a waiver of that term on a later occasion.

3. Who We Are

BADDERTHANBADDIES LLC is a limited liability company registered in the United States and operating a braid studio and styling suite at 1002 E Wyndom Way, Layton - 84040-8537, United States (US). The studio trades under the name BADDERTHANBADDIES LLC and may be reached at contact@badderthanbaddies.buzz or on +14198512257.

The website at badderthanbaddies.buzz is operated by the company. References to we, us and our in these terms mean the company. References to you mean the client, the visitor or the person acting on behalf of a client.

The studio is a styling business. It is not a medical clinic, a dermatology practice or a pharmacy, and nothing offered here should be read as medical advice. Where a scalp or hair condition needs clinical attention, we will refer you to an appropriate professional.

4. Services Covered

These terms apply to every service offered from the Layton workroom, including protective braids, silk press and blowouts, install and weave work, kids styling, bridal and event glam, scalp care treatments and any related preparation, take down or maintenance appointment.

The services page describes the current range in detail. We may add, change or retire a service from time to time. A change does not affect an appointment that has already been confirmed unless the change is necessary for safety, in which case we will contact you before the appointment to agree an alternative.

Prices quoted on this website or in a message are estimates for the described work. The final price depends on hair length, density, the size and number of braids, the amount of material required, and the time the work actually takes. We will confirm the price range before starting and will not add a charge without telling you first.

5. Booking and Confirmation

A booking begins when you send an enquiry or call the front bench and we agree a date and time. The booking is held when the details are confirmed in a reply and, where a deposit is required, when the deposit is received.

Please give accurate information when booking: hair length, whether the hair is chemically treated, the style you want, and any allergy or sensitivity we should know about. Accurate information is what allows us to set a realistic time allowance. If the information changes before the appointment, tell us so that we can adjust the chair rather than cut the service short on the day.

We will send a confirmation with the date, the time, the service, the estimated duration and the address. Please check it and tell us promptly if anything is wrong. A reminder is usually sent the day before the appointment.

6. Deposits and Payment

Long appointments and bridal dates may require a deposit to hold the chair. The deposit is applied to the final bill. The amount and the conditions are stated when the booking is confirmed.

Payment is accepted through the payment method offered at the time of booking or at the studio. Card details are handled by the payment provider and are not stored by us. Receipts are issued for every payment, and a copy is available on request.

The balance is due at the end of the appointment. If you need to pay in more than one part, ask before the service begins so that an arrangement can be made. An unpaid balance may be pursued through ordinary collection steps, though we would always prefer to resolve the matter in a conversation.

7. Rescheduling and Cancellation

Life changes, and we understand that. You may reschedule without charge with at least forty eight hours notice, and the deposit moves to the new date once.

If you cancel inside forty eight hours, we will make a genuine effort to fill the chair from a waiting list. If the chair is filled, the deposit is transferred to a future booking. If the chair is not filled, the deposit is retained to cover the lost time.

Cancellations by us are rare but can happen if a stylist is ill, if a supplier fails to deliver a special order, or if a safety concern arises. In that case you will be offered the next available chair or a full refund of any deposit, and you may choose either option.

Bridal and event bookings carry separate conditions described in the bridal section because the calendar, the travel and the planning run differently.

8. Late Arrival and No Shows

Please arrive at the agreed time. A braid set is built in stages, and a late start pushes every later appointment in the day.

If you arrive more than fifteen minutes late, we will do what we can, but we may need to shorten the service or move it to another date. If you arrive more than thirty minutes late, the appointment may be treated as a cancellation and the deposit policy above may apply.

If you do not arrive and do not contact us before the start time, the appointment is recorded as a no show. A repeat no show may result in a requirement to prepay in full before a future chair is held.

If traffic, weather or a family emergency makes you late, call +14198512257 as soon as you can. A call in advance usually allows us to adjust the chair and keep the booking alive.

9. Client Preparation

Hair must arrive clean and fully dry unless the booking includes a cleanse. Wet hair placed under braids can stay damp for hours, and damp hair under a cap can irritate the scalp. Please do not apply heavy oil, leave in conditioner or styling wax on the day unless we have asked you to.

If you have extensions, clips or a previous install, remove them before arrival or tell us that a removal is part of the booking. Removal takes time and must be allowed for in the schedule.

Bring your own braid hair if you have a preferred brand or texture. Let us know the amount and the length so that we can confirm it is sufficient. Bring a hair tie, a scarf for the journey home and anything you need for a long appointment.

10. Hair and Scalp Conditions

We style healthy hair with care, and we also style hair that is fragile or recovering. Honesty on both sides matters. Please tell us about a recent chemical service, a relaxer, a color, a medical condition that affects the scalp, or a history of breakage at the hairline.

We will inspect the hair before starting. If we believe a requested style would cause harm, we will explain why and suggest an alternative that works with the condition. We may decline a service when the risk is too high, and a declined service is not a judgment on you.

You are responsible for deciding whether to proceed after hearing our advice. If you choose to proceed, you accept the ordinary risks of styling, including some shedding during combing, temporary tenderness at a tight part, and variation in how long a style holds.

If you have a known allergy to a product, a dye or an adhesive, tell us before the appointment. We will use an alternative where one exists and will patch test when a new product is involved.

11. Braid Hair and Materials

We source braid hair from suppliers we trust and keep it sorted by texture and shade in the supply wall. Material supplied by us is included in the quoted price unless we say otherwise.

If you supply your own hair, we cannot guarantee its quality, color fastness or behavior after washing. We will inspect it on arrival and tell you if it is insufficient or unsuitable. A refund is not available for a style that performs poorly because of supplied material.

Some braid hair is treated with a coating that can feel stiff at first. We may recommend a short soak or a specific care step. Follow the aftercare card to get the best wear from the style.

12. Results and Expectations

Hair is not a uniform material. Two clients can request the same style and get a different result because the density, the curl pattern, the length and the condition differ. Photographs are a reference, not a guarantee of an identical outcome.

We will be clear about what is achievable in one appointment. If a requested size or length would need more time than the booked chair, we will offer a second appointment rather than rush the finish.

Color variation between a photograph and a screen is normal. If an exact shade matters, ask for a sample to be shown before the braiding starts.

13. Aftercare and Maintenance

Every service includes a written aftercare card. Following it is the best way to protect the style and the scalp underneath.

Braid styles should not stay in indefinitely. Depending on the style, we recommend a take down and a scalp reset within six to eight weeks. A braid set left in for too long can cause buildup, matting and tension damage.

If a braid slips or a knot loosens within the first week, contact us and we will look at it at no charge. Damage that comes from rough handling, swimming in chlorinated water without care, or a product applied at home is not covered.

Maintenance appointments are offered at set intervals. Booking them at the time of the original service is the easiest way to keep the calendar clear.

14. Children and Guardian Consent

A child must be booked by a parent or legal guardian, who remains responsible for the booking, the payment and the consent to style. The guardian should stay in the studio during the appointment unless a separate arrangement is agreed.

We will not apply a strong chemical service to a child. Styles are chosen to suit the age and the comfort of the child, and the session is paced so that a young guest is not asked to sit beyond what is reasonable.

If a child is distressed, we may pause or end the appointment. The priority is the wellbeing of the child, and no style is worth a bad experience.

15. Bridal and Event Bookings

Bridal and event work is planned in advance. A trial appointment is recommended so that the style, the hold and the timeline can be tested before the day.

A bridal date is held with a deposit, and the balance is due before the event. Cancellation more than fourteen days before the event returns the deposit in part, as stated in the written quote. Cancellation inside fourteen days retains the deposit because the date cannot easily be refilled.

On location work is limited to a practical driving radius from Layton. Travel time and parking costs are quoted in advance. If the event runs late, additional time is billed at the hourly rate stated in the quote.

The studio is not responsible for the work of another stylist, a photographer or a venue. We will coordinate where possible, but we cannot guarantee the schedule of a third party.

16. Photographs and Portfolio

We may ask to photograph a finished style for the portfolio. We will not publish an image without written consent from the person in it, or from a guardian if the person is a child.

Consent can be withdrawn at any time. On withdrawal we will remove the image from active use within a reasonable period. We cannot remove a copy that a third party has already shared independently.

You are welcome to photograph your own finished style. If you share an image publicly, a credit to the studio is appreciated but not required.

17. Guest Conduct in the Studio

The workroom is a small, shared space. We ask guests to treat the studio, the tools and each other with respect.

Please arrive with a clean and considerate manner. Aggressive behavior, discriminatory language and harassment of any kind will end the appointment, and the service will be charged in full.

Food and drink are welcome in the waiting nook, but please keep them away from the styling rack. Smoking and vaping are not permitted inside the building. One guest may accompany a client; larger groups are asked to wait outside because the aisle is narrow.

Please silence a phone during a bridal or event appointment. Music and calls are fine at other times if they do not disturb another guest.

18. Use of This Website

You may use this website for lawful, personal purposes: to read about the studio, to check services and to prepare a booking enquiry.

You may not attempt to gain unauthorized access to the site or its systems, interfere with its operation, introduce malicious code, scrape content at scale, or use the site to send spam or fraudulent messages.

The contact form prepares an email in your own mail application. You are responsible for the content of the message you send. Do not include a password, a card number or an identity document in a message.

We may suspend access to the site for maintenance or to protect it from abuse. We do not promise that the site will always be available without interruption.

19. Intellectual Property

The text, layout, styling and graphics of this website belong to BADDERTHANBADDIES LLC or are used with permission. The name BADDERTHANBADDIES LLC, the tagline used on the site and the visual identity of the studio are protected.

You may read, print or save a page for personal use. You may not copy a page for a commercial purpose, republish it, frame it, or present it as your own work without written permission.

The workroom illustrations on this site are built in code for this business. They may not be reproduced for another business without agreement.

If you believe content on this site infringes a right you hold, write to contact@badderthanbaddies.buzz with the details and we will review the matter promptly.

20. Limits of Liability

We provide services with reasonable skill and care. Nothing in these terms excludes a liability that the law does not allow us to exclude, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.

To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, such as a lost opportunity, a missed event or a cost that arises from a delay outside our control.

Our total liability for a claim connected to a service is limited to the amount paid for that service, unless a higher figure is required by law.

We are not responsible for loss or damage to personal property left unattended in the studio, for the acts of a third party, or for a result that follows a failure to follow the aftercare guidance provided.

21. Indemnity

You agree to indemnify BADDERTHANBADDIES LLC against a claim, loss or cost that arises from your breach of these terms, your misuse of the website, or a false statement you make about your hair, your health or your authority to book for another person.

This indemnity does not apply to a loss caused by our own negligence or by a failure on our part to follow these terms. It applies only to the extent that your own conduct created the liability.

If a claim of this kind is made, we will tell you promptly and give you a reasonable opportunity to respond.

22. Privacy

Our Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store and protect personal information. It forms part of these terms, and you should read it together with this document.

By using the website or booking a service, you acknowledge the practices described in the Privacy Policy, including the use of information to confirm an appointment and to keep a styling record.

If the two documents appear to conflict on a privacy question, the Privacy Policy controls for that question. For every other question, these terms control.

23. Changes to These Terms

We may update these terms to reflect a change in the services, the law or the way the studio operates. The effective date at the top of the page shows when the current version took effect.

A material change will be noted on the homepage, and we will take reasonable steps to bring it to the attention of clients with an upcoming appointment. A minor correction will be made without a separate notice but will still be reflected in the effective date.

The terms in force on the date of your booking are the terms that govern that booking, unless a change is required for safety or by law. A new booking after an update is governed by the updated terms.

24. Disputes and Governing Law

If something has gone wrong, please tell us first. A direct conversation resolves most concerns faster than any formal process, and we would rather fix a problem than defend one.

Write to contact@badderthanbaddies.buzz with the date of the appointment, the service and a clear description of the issue. We will acknowledge the message and aim to respond within ten business days with a proposed resolution.

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Utah and the applicable federal laws of the United States, without regard to conflict of law rules. Any dispute that cannot be resolved by discussion will be brought in a court of competent jurisdiction serving Davis County, Utah.

Before starting a formal claim, both sides agree to attempt mediation in good faith for a period of thirty days, unless the matter involves an urgent safety concern or a request for injunctive relief.

25. Contact

Questions about these terms, a booking, a payment or a privacy matter are welcome at any time. We read every message and reply in the order received.
